Moody's Corporation is the holding company for Moody's Investors Service which performs financial research and analysis on commercial and government entities. The company also ranks the credit-worthiness of borrowers using a standardized ratings scale.

Fitch Ratings, Ltd. is an international credit rating agency dual-headquartered in New York City and London. It was one of the three NRSRO, together with Moody's and Standard & Poor's. A. M. Best and Dominion Bond Rating Service have subsequently joined those three as NRSRO.
